CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A grant was made available on Monday by the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services, intent on reducing diesel emissions across the state. Through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Diesel Emissions Reduction Act, more than $400,000 to be used for replacing or upgrading old diesel equipment has been awarded to the SCDES. SCDES said that diesel emissions make up a significant portion of the mobile source air pollution in South Carolina. “Diesel engines last a long time, and many older-model diesel engines are still in use throughout our state. Older engines have significantly higher emissions than similar, newer engines,” said Rhonda Thompson, Chief of SCDES’s Bureau of Air Quality. Thompson believes the “funded projects will provide reduced diesel emissions and improvements to South Carolina’s public health and environment.” Applications for the S.C. State DERA grants are due by June 12. Applications are accepted from a variety of organizations, public and privately owned. Details on the application can befound online. De Laurentiis, però, sarà chiaro: ha in giro almeno 4-5 calciatori che vorrebbe rivedere in maglia azzurra, dovrà ridurre il monte ingaggi (ora è di 115 milioni di euro). E le ambizioni resteranno alte: il ritorno in Champions l’anno prossimo e almeno il passaggio del turno nella fase a gironi della Champions. Il futuro Conte? Deve mandar giù tante cose: è rimasto da solo quando ha dovuto lamentarsi degli arbitraggi, non ha nascosto il proprio malcontento per tanti aspetti della società che sperava con il suo arrivo potessero migliorare. C’è la questione delle infrastrutture, che pure era alla base dell’intesa del 2024: Conte può anche passarci sopra, ma vuole sempre che ci sia una netta separazione tra la gestione sportiva della squadra e tutto il resto. Una linea rossa che De Laurentiis non deve travalicare. Ma anche questo aspetto inizia a pesare al patron azzurro: per due anni ha accettato questo ruolo marginale, ora vorrebbe tornare a esporsi in prima linea. D’altronde, è l’anno del Centenario. E De Laurentiis vuole godersi questi mesi che verranno con tutti i riflettori puntati addosso. Insomma, non è facile comprendere come si evolverà la faccenda: di sicuro il bilancio del Napoli sarà ancora in rosso e le riserve da 190 milioni verranno messe da parte per garantire solidità alle finanze della società. Uno scenario dove la risposta arriverà, magari, già dopo il Bologna anche se più tardi ci sarà l’incontro e più aumentano le possibilità di una permanenza.
